Returning to the principles of our original Embrace#1 we wanted to come up with a design that held a gemstone in a more everyday wearable position. It was interesting to explore the line of diamonds in the floor of the curve continuing through underneath the space where the main sapphire was set, making an interesting feature of the space beneath the gem. So often gemstones are only considered from their top view, but the shape of this ring when viewed from the side draws attention to the silhouette of the cut of the stone. The ring is left open at the point where it returns to the top of the finger, it just seemed to us to add more drama. In retrospect we should have named this one Ouroboros.
